Cricket Prevention & Treatment
Crickets can live both indoors and outdoors, growing to between 3/4 and 7/8 inches long. You may notice they have yellow, brown or straw coloring and three dark bands on their heads. The house cricket, the Tropical House Cricket, and the Field Cricket are all native to Arizona, along with all manner of katydids and grasshoppers. Crickets are essentially harmless to humans but they reproduce quickly and make loud, annoying sounds during the night. If all that chirping is keeping you up, call Home Guard for prompt, effective pest control.
You may find crickets hiding in tall weeds and heavy vegetation, under boards and rocks, and in piles of lumber, firewood or debris. They may invade your home or business looking for food, moisture or shelter. Adults in particular are attracted to bright lights on your home, crawling through cracks and holes to gain entry.
